Giving Access to Forum for Audio

If people can’t hear you speaking in class, perform an AV Check to ensure Forum has access to your microphone.

Check your Microphone

During the AV Check, you can also test your microphone. This helps determine if your microphone is picking up sound. If you suspect your microphone is not working properly, try a different microphone/headset. This comparison can help narrow down the problem.

You Can Hear Others but Cannot Be Heard

If you are using a headset with a built-in microphone and you can hear others but cannot be heard, there may be an issue with the microphone. Test your microphone through the AV Check.

Muffled Audio or Robotic Audio Noise

To solve issues such as muffled sounding audio, distorted audio, or audio with high pitched sounds, sometimes unplugging and replugging the microphone helps resolve the issue. Also, be sure your computer is not overloaded by closing the unnecessary applications.

Bluetooth and Wireless Headphones and Microphone Issues

If you are using Bluetooth or Wireless Headphones and Microphones, ensure that they are given access to Forum and are the selected microphone when you are in the AV Check.

If these suggestions do not resolve your audio issues, we recommend contacting live tech support.

If you are having trouble enabling your microphone on MacOS or Chrome, make sure you have allowed permissions.
